New Collaborations for 2012 from Cathy Heck Studio
Austin, TX – In the first half of 2012,Cathy Heck Studio launched exciting new collections on several different surfaces — from pixels and paper to cotton and flannel. The family-run design team with a 25-year history of excellence in juvenile illustration welcomed the debut of three new baby memory books through Shutterfly in March. The adorable illustrations and trend-forward typography make these personalized books a joy to create on Shutterfly’s interactive site.
The studio will also be launching three new collections under its CathyLoo brand on cotton and flannel fabric through David Textiles at Quilt Market this spring. These whimsical nursery groups feature adorable scenes of animals at play painted in Cathy’s timeless storybook style. The studio currently has four fabric collections in the high-end quilt market through Blue Hill Fabrics and Newcastle Fabrics and is already busy with designs for the Spring 2013 season.
While the studio continues to expand into the digital world through Shutterfly and its own interactive site, Cathy Heck Nursery Art, they still continue to create keepsake collections for baby and child on memory products. Cathy has a long and successful history in this area, with over 2 million babies having a Cathy Heck baby book. Early this year, ceramic keepsake banks were added to the Alex and Emma collections with C.R. Gibson, and a Noah’s Ark scrapbook for Michael’s will soon be in stores through Tapestry.
Cathy Heck Studio will be showing juvenile collections, as well as new everyday and seasonal designs at Surtex in May and Licensing Expo in June 2012. This season, they are especially interested in developing ideas for gift, bath, and home.
