Expanding Product Categories for Cathy Heck Studio

Austin, TX – Over the past year, Cathy Heck Studio, the prolific, family-run design studio known for their strength in the juvenile market, was pleased to debut several new collections across multiple product categories.

At the Atlanta Gift Show, their newest collection, Made with Love, debuted with C.R. Gibson on a suite of baby memory keepsakes. This high-end group of books and albums, which feature beautiful hand-stitched illustrations with a trompe l’oeil embossed effect, is both sophisticated and playful. The current collection also includes a matching gift bag, calendar, and adorable elephant coin bank, and will soon be expanded with a framed family tree.

Also with C.R. Gibson, a company with which the studio has been working for 28 years, designs have expanded to the Gibby & Libby line of toys and games. New products include puzzles, magnetic games, and a board book.

In over-the-counter fabric, under the CathyLoo line, the studio released eight new collections of flannel and fleece through David Textiles, which included Adventureland, Play Day Park, Rainbow Bears, Owlies, Bear’s Day, Construction Zone, Cuddly Noah, and Naptime Nursery.

The studio also introduced a full collection of bright quilt-market-only cottons, Cuteville County Fair, for Henry Glass at the International Quilt Market in Houston.

With Plaid Enterprises, the studio released some of its best-selling juvenile collections as counted cross-stitch kits. Little Train, Little Carousel, Cute-A-Saurus, and Here A Hug, were added to the company’s Bucilla Baby line.

Other new collaborations have included a Christmas group on gift wrap and napkins for Design Design called Snow Angels, a graphic and playful group of children playing in the snow, and two Spring 2014 collections for Pottery Barn on tableware, pillows, and bedding with a painterly watercolor appeal.

The studio will be exhibiting again this year at Surtex and is particularly interested in expanding in the areas of gift, home-décor, new media and publishing. Please stop by to meet Cathy, Ellen, and Julianna Heck at Booth #640. This friendly, family-run, full-service design studio is versatile, a pleasure to work with, and brimming with new collections and unique product ideas!
